The ORAS Story Legend Soft Reset Thread

First topic message reminder :

To all those playing ORAS:

It appears that the following applies to the Latias/Latios that you get as part of the story. The nature can be influenced by a Synchronizer. So despite the battle beforehand, eliminating the chance for a different nature is well worth it. This is probably the best chance at getting a good legendary on your own game that we've had thus far in Pokemon. I will be Soft Resetting (SR'ing), let us know if you want to give it a try too and we'll get you set up with a Synchronizer, and make sure you post here before you start so we don't overlap sets. Don't forget, the more that contribute, the better off we all are.

UPDATE: This topic is being broadened to include ALL ORAS Legends THAT MUST BE CAPTURED TO PROGRESS THE STORY. This means that if I'm not mistaken, that is 5 Pokemon that will be covered in this thread. If everyone that would like to Soft Reset for the other legends could please refrain until the breeding project is done, that would be great. (Wink Wink)

SUPER UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention by more than one person that Kyogre/Groudon will reappear in the same location later in the game if you knock it out during your first encounter. If this is true, I would suggest doing that, because the second encounter will be without all of the cutscenes. Proceed at your own risk, however, I cannot confirm this to be true. But, even if this isn't true, there are bound to be lots of people that will have perfect ones, and I have been building up my legendary collection lately, so we can surely get another.

I would suggest a spread with 5 really strong IV's. Not necessarily perfect, but darn near it.

Oh, I almost forgot, don't be afraid to use this Latias/Latios, we can always clear it's IV's later. Or, if you want, use Super Training (That's what I'm going to do) to get the set as soon as you get it. post here and we'll decide on IV's for the set.

Hey, it's no less a story legend than Groudon/ Kyogre, they're skippable too. I will be aiming for a Naive Deoxys FWIW (for Deo-A). Also just to warn y'all, I fully EV trained + leveled Rayquaza to 100 :3

I also will be trying for naive for Deoxys speed, hoping that with the tier realignment, Deoxys speed drops back to OU. But not until we finish the breeding project, since that's the next thing.

Didnt need to go to resort. HP Dark=all stats are odd so its 31/31/15/31/31/31 5IV. I think I'll keep this one. Its Def could be better but I did not know you couldnt go to resort until you got it so I want access to it so I'll settle for this one. Gonna be super Picky when I go for Latios. Gonna gen a special Smeargle that wont kill it w/ 2 Seismic Tosses if it has max HP and outspeeds if it doesnt have max speed to help check it w/o catching it. So Latios will be the next thing I SR for next week as I'll be bringing my DS to school for the Eon Ticket on Thursday.

Found an Unown Mirage spot. Cant resist. It cant breed so it has guranteed IVs so gonna test my luck. Should I go Modest or Timid?

I know its not story but I dont think this'll be here everyday.

EDIT: Yep, out of all mirage spots only one has Unown.

Lol it's fine, I'm not that worried about it. The group thing technically only extends to soft resets needed to progress the story. But since Blue is incapable of actually listening to anyone and goes against people just to do it, he went ahead and did it anyway.

I should rephrase that, what I mean is this thread's effort only extends to those things. We're going to have a sweeping effort alongside re breeding to hardcore reset for all of them once the regular project is done.

But hey, really nice job on cress. Congrats, it looks awesome.

My Deoxys is Careful 24-25/31/31/4-5/31/31. I was thinking of a Deoxys-D set with Taunt, Spikes, Recover and Knock Off.

Helps check for a 31/x/x/x/x/31 spread and if you get it its worth the time to catch.

The Rayquaza in the first post I SRd has 15 Def rather than 15 SpD. Though I wish it had the 15 SpD to match the nature.

Just want to let you guys know I managed to get the Eon Ticket. I'll start SRing tomorrow for Latios. Timid all 30-31s (except in Attack) or bust unless I find a good shiny along the way or something or a random nature with IVs that perfectly fit thats too good to pass up.

Watch out for naïve, I think that's the other nature definitely worth it.

Just wanted to post after Rayquaza found my 2nd 5IV ORAS SR. Timid 31/31/31/31/4-6/31 Latios 31s confirmed by IV Judge. Not keeping but though it was worth noting as got 2 31 IVs randomly. Hopefully I find one w/o attack later. Found several 4IVs so far as well.

5IVs arent THAT rare imo. Or at least for me. Almost every other Latios I find is 4IV. I found 4 5IVs yesterday. I'm pretty confident I can go all the way. The only difficulty with getting 5IVs is getting the right 5IVs.

A Quiet 31/31/27/31/31/0 one came after that. 0 is such a hard thing to get, I wish I was using that RNG on another legend though. That on Kyogre or Mesprit maybe couldve been cool.

Its 5 30-31 IVs in the right places or bust imo.

I don't get why you bother listing spreads that we're not getting because you reset them. Why not wait and tell us the one you keep instead.

B/c I want to list all the good spreads I get for future reference so I know later I have to do better than that spread

I am genuinely enraged at the thought of you being lucky enough to score that spread and resetting. It's like you don't even know how probability works, what you're aiming for is exponentially more difficult to get yet provides virtually no benefits argh I am too hungover and cranky for this

The 2 Latios we already have are near the same quality if we arent looking at attack. Just got another 5IV right now, if I want to shoot for the impossible then I dont see why not. Really want a spread that compares to my Diancie who's probablility was far worse.

and yeah, sorry Karp. Dont worry though I'll have that 5IV Lati eventually my luck has been really good so far I found 5 of what I consider 5IVs in the last 2 days. Just need to keep at it till the IVs align properly

Really want a good Lati with my OT. Wanted Latias more but that Pokeball. Then wanted to Dive Ball Latios but that takes way to long so I'm just flinging master balls at this thing right now till I get the one I want.

And here I am, severely lacking sleep, basically being an hermit and showering only every other day to save time...
