The ORAS Story Legend Soft Reset Thread

First topic message reminder :

To all those playing ORAS:

It appears that the following applies to the Latias/Latios that you get as part of the story. The nature can be influenced by a Synchronizer. So despite the battle beforehand, eliminating the chance for a different nature is well worth it. This is probably the best chance at getting a good legendary on your own game that we've had thus far in Pokemon. I will be Soft Resetting (SR'ing), let us know if you want to give it a try too and we'll get you set up with a Synchronizer, and make sure you post here before you start so we don't overlap sets. Don't forget, the more that contribute, the better off we all are.

UPDATE: This topic is being broadened to include ALL ORAS Legends THAT MUST BE CAPTURED TO PROGRESS THE STORY. This means that if I'm not mistaken, that is 5 Pokemon that will be covered in this thread. If everyone that would like to Soft Reset for the other legends could please refrain until the breeding project is done, that would be great. (Wink Wink)

SUPER UPDATE: It has been brought to my attention by more than one person that Kyogre/Groudon will reappear in the same location later in the game if you knock it out during your first encounter. If this is true, I would suggest doing that, because the second encounter will be without all of the cutscenes. Proceed at your own risk, however, I cannot confirm this to be true. But, even if this isn't true, there are bound to be lots of people that will have perfect ones, and I have been building up my legendary collection lately, so we can surely get another.

I would suggest a spread with 5 really strong IV's. Not necessarily perfect, but darn near it.

Oh, I almost forgot, don't be afraid to use this Latias/Latios, we can always clear it's IV's later. Or, if you want, use Super Training (That's what I'm going to do) to get the set as soon as you get it. post here and we'll decide on IV's for the set.

Yeah I started Kyogre. Found a 5IV Adamant one yesterday as well with -SpD. Hopefully I get a good one soon with a matching IV spread.

Bunsel, we've been talking in the chat and I think people are ready to expand this a l'il bit. I know you wanted to wait until the breeding project is done but things are kinda slow lately and we're getting to the point where most people have completed ORAS. Plus we already have a bunch of good spreads for every mandatory pokemon. Zoid suggested we start going for Deoxys, Cosplay Pikachu and the Regis. How does this sound?

I think specifically the Deoxys, since if people are going to go ahead and do things anyway, we might as well organize it some to cover all needed natures. The cosplay pikachu is just in case people actually want to do the contests... (shutter). The regis are just so they feel important and are paired with Gen 3, but... no one cares about the Regis lol

I want to. I suggested we do. Mademoiselle wants to pair this with the rebreed. I'm fine with us expanding it, but it needs its own section, not just a thread. Not sure how to do this and honestly don't have the time to try it right now. Do you know Karp?

I had Sassy Synchronizer on but the game gave me a Relaxed Groudon with: 31/29-31/29-31/31/31/20-22. It has HP Ice, though I'll have to train and level it up to know the actual IV values (Battle Institute does not allow cover legends right?). After several days of soft-resetting, I kept it.

Here's a first: I got a regi. 31/31/30/2/31/28 Careful Registeel. The speed isn't quite perfect but this thing is begging for a Curse set so it makes no difference (Plus, no-one cares. Because it's Registeel. Seriously. Who cares? )

My OR Deoxys is 31/30/30/31/9/31. Timid. I kept it.

After spending the last 2 days SR, my OR Latios is this:

Ah, ya'll are making me blush Anyway, I almost didn't have this cause I had started to keep the another one. It had a possible 5ivs and 29 in speed. But I decided to keep SR cause that 29 in speed would irritate the heck out of me.

After soft-resetting for a while tonight, I got this Darkrai 31/28-29/31/31/28-29/31 on my AS. Hasty. (Note this Darkrai has Phantom Force)

At first, I didn't know if I should keep it. But since I can't synchronize it, and the chances of rolling another good IV combination with a usable nature are slim, I kept it. It has perfect IVs in the appropriate places and 28-29 isn't that bad for Special Defense.

Anyway, I have 5 more codes (and if no one takes them, I might as well use one on my Y game for Timid/Modest)

My jaw dropped at the spread then I was thinking "was it Brave" checked the nature expecting the worse and it turned out to be the best nature for it

Granted dont know how useful Brave Diancie is but Trick Room + Explosion sounds fun on paper. Its at least the best for a Brave one. Idk what its Special Attack is atm but since its Relatively Superior its definitely under 26 which means not close to usable.

Question: I'm attempting to SR Legendaries for Stat but I only have OR. Are there alternative Pokemon that I can catch in OR that can be used to have an indication of the IV spread of the Legendary upon encounter? Thanks.

First of all, I have no idea how you found this little hole in the wall, but congrats for that.

To address the question, I'll ask another. Do you mean another pokemon with similar stars to judge the stats against? Or like a ditto to get the actual stat values without having to catch it?

I think he means to check the legend's stats in battle?

You can only do that with HP and Speed. With set damage moves and having a Pokemon that is 1 point slower than the max speed of that legend your SRing. The other stats you can't know for sure because of min/max damage.

Imo specific Smeargles for each legend are the best for that but since you only have ORAS a Pokemon with speed that can be similar to the legend your fighting that learns Night Shade/Psywave/Seismic Toss is probably your best bet.
