I kinda understand their motives, but this is not good. I mean, they don't want people that just want to battle keeping X and Y and not having to get the new game, but that is a very small contingency of people I think, and this is going to turn more people off than it will lock into buying the new game. It's all about service to customers, and Nintendo doesn't have the ability to play with their ever dwindling fanbase.
