Many of you have probably already heard of this.

Primal Groudon's ability is Desolate Land, which prevents any changes to weather brought about by Hail, Sandstorm, etc. and also deactivates abilities such as Drizzle, Sand Stream, etc. In addition, water type moves are 100% ineffective under this "extremely harsh sunlight."

Primal Kyogre's ability is Primordial Sea, which also prevents any changes to weather, deactivates weather-inducing abilities, and render fire-type moves 100% ineffective under "heavy rain."

Both weather effects only last as long as either Groudon/Kyogre is actively in battle and it disappears when they are switched out.

So... Primal Groudon, whose Ground/Fire typing is 4x weak to water, now finds itself immune to water; whereas Primal Kyogre is also now immune to fire - a type that it only resists in the first place. Yeah, sounds fair.

They also have new signature moves: Precipice Blades and Origin Pulse.

Kyogre >recks Groudon

Primal Groudon > checks Primal Kyogre

That isn't to say that if it's like mega evolution you couldn't just Hydro Pump Groudon on the switch in and get it over with, but it COULD be a semi-permanent thing, like with shaymin or kyurem.

Also these things are gonna get so much usage in doubles, i know the effects only last while they're on the field but it doesn't limit three moveslots and protect spam (attack in between) is always an option.

Thank the Lord these will be banned in most every competitive format. Super OP.

And Kyogre did get much less from this transition, but I'm assuming these abilities can take over each other, i.e. Primordial Sea can activate while Desolate land is on the field, so all this really does is make each a check to the other, when before, Kyogre was way better. Seems fitting for the land and sea pokemon to have special abilities, like before, until they gave those abilities to others.

They almost have to. These things would be way too unstoppable otherwise.

I do hope they cancel each other out. Otherwise, Cloud Nine Golduck just became the biggest threat to Primal Groudon. xD
